Imaginarium

Visit site

In collaboration with the National Gallery and Fabrique, Micrio helped build “Imaginarium,” a three-dimensional, AI-powered web experience celebrating the museum's 200th anniversary — here, iconic paintings float in a dreamlike virtual space, where users are gently guided through dialogue-driven questions and can dive into artworks in stunning detail. As visitors respond, the paintings subtly animate — figures move, sounds emerge — while still preserving the integrity of the originals. The experience emphasizes “slow looking,” fostering a personal, emotional connection with art in a way only possible in the digital realm

Opinion

  • Something magical happens: the painting comes to life through AI. Elements within the painting begin to move slightly, such as depicted figures, and sounds that match the story, like cows mooing, can be heard
